Long Time-No Post

Yep, I’m still using this blog. I still haven’t completed my new one. What have I been doing these last few months? Um…I got engaged! Woot! I accepted a full-time position in the lab (for now). I think that actually is it. I’ve been riding more and helping Mom nurse Ozzy and his E. Coli infection, which has officially cleared. Um. Um. I lead a relatively boring life.

School is back in session on campus and I will admit, on occasion I miss History classes but for the most part, I don’t miss school at all. My student loans are going in to repayment one-by-one which is really terrifying. I constantly worry about how I will pay for them and keep up my horsey lifestyle.  Yuck to being a grown-up.

I won’t be getting Congress this year, unfortunately. Ozzy’s vet bills just ate up any of the money that Mom and I would have spent going. Oh well, I’ve been watching some of it online.

Now, the real reason I posted is because I switched my banner to the “Halloween Edition.” What can I say?

I am still working on my new site including a bunch of merchandise to be sold…if I’d only take some damn pictures of it all! There will be a bit of a variety for horsey-folks that want more than just the run-of-the-mill products. Right now all have pictures of are the cosmetic bags I’m making. You can check out a couple of the bags I’ve sold and a few that are still available by clicking on the photo below which links to my Facebook page. I have quite a few more already made just no pictures yet! So if you see something you like or have an idea, let me know 🙂

Monday is my last final for the semester…and for my least favorite class! Of course it would be last dragging the class out forever. Friday, I finished the last paper for it then went to work studying for the final I took Tuesday.

Somewhere in there, I’ve gotten to ride a little. When the HUGE indoor is finished soon, I will be riding as much as possible and cannot wait for it.

I’ve been doing a lot of wasting time on pint

erest…and negelecting this. I’m hoping over break to do some updating, and brainstorming about new posts to put up. If you have any suggestions of what you’d like to see or read about let me know! In the mean time, should you get bored with current and past posts, feel free to check out Horse Themed Gifts (not just for Christmas!) and Horse Things! (a collection of horse-related everything I like or am interested in!)

Who is getting excited for the 2012 Show Season? I am! I’m already planning and plotting and thinking about what I’m going to need to do to get into my show clothes! haha. But for now, it’s back to work and study!

Barefoot Horse Hoofprint Charm: Etsy

Barefoot Horse Hoofprint Equine Natural Hoof Care Hoof by KDemARTe.

Are you looking for inexpensive, unique gifts for your horsey friends? Check out this charm (plus a ton of other cute one from this seller). It’s a barefoot horse print! I love it because it’s not the typical horse shoe you see everybody with, and it’s handmade. The price is right too at $10.00!

Keeping Warm Continued!

O.K. I’ve covered winter boots, winter jeans/breeches, now let’s take a look at a couple smaller things…hats, gloves, and scarves. There are a lot of winter riding gloves, hats, and scarves available from tack stores but to be honest, those are the kind of things that get lost, beat up and ruined first. I don’t want to spend much on them at all. Buying from places like Wal-mart, Target, and Old Navy can get you some warm things at low prices…plus if you lose them a store is always near by.

I also love Forever 21 for their huge variety of winter accessories at low prices! I currently don’t wear a scarf to the barn and my hat of choice is a bright blue and yellow “Zep” hat that’s older than I am (I still love it though). My gloves are from Forever 21 and I love them! They are just simple cotton gloves with another set of fingerless cotton gloves to go over them. Extra warmth when you need it, and more finger freedom too! Plus they only cost $2.50, check them out here!

Coming soon…inexpensive barn coat alternatives & thermals…and a whole ensemble (could be a great set of Christmas presents!)
