A Winter Outfit!

I didn’t spend too much time worrying about price but here’s a quick look at what I’d like to be wearing this winter to stay warm and not overly layered! (I didn’t include a heavy coat because I love the one I bought last year).

  • Mossimo Long Sleeve Top : $14.99

  • Tuffrider Unifleece Winter Pull-On Breech: $44.95
  • Tuffrider Thermal Sock: $9.95

  • Forever 21 Open Knit Neck Warmer: $12.80
  • Forever 21 Hat and Gloves: $8.80 + $2.50

If you like the look, shop around and see what you can find at better prices! I know there are lots of good deals out there!

Keeping Warm Continued!

O.K. I’ve covered winter boots, winter jeans/breeches, now let’s take a look at a couple smaller things…hats, gloves, and scarves. There are a lot of winter riding gloves, hats, and scarves available from tack stores but to be honest, those are the kind of things that get lost, beat up and ruined first. I don’t want to spend much on them at all. Buying from places like Wal-mart, Target, and Old Navy can get you some warm things at low prices…plus if you lose them a store is always near by.

I also love Forever 21 for their huge variety of winter accessories at low prices! I currently don’t wear a scarf to the barn and my hat of choice is a bright blue and yellow “Zep” hat that’s older than I am (I still love it though). My gloves are from Forever 21 and I love them! They are just simple cotton gloves with another set of fingerless cotton gloves to go over them. Extra warmth when you need it, and more finger freedom too! Plus they only cost $2.50, check them out here!

Coming soon…inexpensive barn coat alternatives & thermals…and a whole ensemble (could be a great set of Christmas presents!)

Keeping Warm!

It’s a pretty chilly morning out there today and it’s only going to get worse. I posted earlier about winter boots but what about winter pants? I’ve taken an interest in less layers this year and here’s how…pants made specifically for winter not just layers and layers of thermals under jeans that are already too tight (or is that just me?)

Here are two of my top choices for winter riding that are both cozy and affordable…

For the English rider, or any rider wanting to keep warm! TuffRider Unifleece Pull On Winter Breech at only $44.00 + $5.00 shipping they aren’t a bad price considering I’ve seen some that cost over $200!

If you aren’t looking for something so form-fitting try a pair of flannel lined jeans. You can find them in a number of places and fleeced lined too! Try out Rod’s Exclusive Flannel Lined Carpenter Jeans for $39.95. Dickies and Cabela’s also offer great fleece and flannel lined options for about the same price!
